Project Review Report about the (Sonic Pathfinder) a microprocessor based Travel Aid for the Blind. The main Project objectives, which has been chopped from my project proposal is:To design and build a simple sonic devise that will Aid people who are visually impairment. By creating five ultra-sonic transducers that are mounted on the head-band and includes three receivers, one pointing left, one pointing right and one straight ahead, and two transmitters. The two transmitters are angled so as to irradiate the user?s pathway with ultra-sonic energy. The three receiving transducers receive echoes from objects lying within the pathway and this information is processed by the on-board computer. The output of the device, the display, is fed to one or other of the two ear pieces depending on whether the object is on the left or the right of the user or to both ear pieces if the object lies exactly in front of the blind traveler path. This assessment separates into Tow sections: project review report and a draft final report chapter.Project Review Report instructions:The report, are around 1000 words plus appendices, should be a reflective review based on the study, analysis and progress of the project problem. Part of the purpose of the report is to ensure that the outcomes of your project will be appropriate for a level 3, 40 CATs unit, and if not to make changes. Your report should reference relevant information and evidence of the work you have carried out.In the Discuss (check midcourse.net for the help you need)ion with your tutor, and as part of the assessment process, you will be expected to justify your evaluation of your progress by referring to the assessment criteria for this phase.Project content will vary depending on the nature of the project, but the reflective review of your progress should cover:? A clear specification the project to be implemented or statement of the research questions to be resolved.? Options analysis leading to determination of chosen option(s) for all aspects of your project methodology? A Discuss (check midcourse.net for the help you need)ion of work completed since the last submission. Depending on the nature of the project this may involve initial implementation work and initial designs. In all cases the work completed by this stage should be determined by a desire to minimise the chances of difficulties in completing the project by addressing project risks (i.e. areas of the work that could cause difficulties leading to possible project failure).? A revised plan for project implementation during the next phase. This should identify the deliverables and key stages of the project and demonstrate that sufficient consideration has been given to the effort required for every stage of the project with a realistic assessment of the duration (in hours) and phasing of each task.Time PlanAn updated Time Plan (Gantt chart) must be produced and will identify the deliverables and the key stages of the project. It should demonstrate that sufficient consideration has been given to the effort required for every stage of the project with a realistic assessment of the duration (in hours) and phasing of each task. The Time Plan should be supported by a?Referencing Requirements:Here are some references to start with:? Heyes, D. Anthony. (1984). ?The Sonic Pathfinder: A New Electronic Travel Aid.? The Sonic Pathfinder, a microprocessor based Travel Aid for the Blind.BackgroundThe Sonic Pathfinder is a secondary mobility aid for use by people with a vision impairment. The Sonic Pathfinder gives the user advanced warning of objects that lie within his or her travel path. Increased safety is the main goal, However, The Sonic Pathfinder has evolved out of the work of the Blind Mobility Research Unit at Nottingham University, England. It is the product of a research program dedicated to achieving an understanding of mobility and the information requirements of the independent blind traveler.Aims1. To analyze the user needs for a sonic aid.2. To research and design a suitable transducer system that will detect objects.3. To research and design suitable user interface (so users have warning of hazard).ObjectivesTo design and build a simple sonic devise that will Aid people who are visually impairment.
